Guelph, Ont. - [January 17, 2024] - Team Canada cyclist Jackie Boyle is set to deliver the keynote talk at the upcoming University of Guelph She’s Got Game Gala scheduled for Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Creelman Hall on the U of G campus.
A native of Toronto, ON., Jackie Boyle will share her inspiring journey to becoming an international-class cyclist with the guests attending the annual event.
“We’re incredibly excited that RBC Olympian Jackie Boyle will be joining She’s Got Game this year,” said Brittany Rykwa, Branch Manager, at the University of Guelph RBC OnCampus location, “We know her story will be inspirational to not only the student-athletes and future female leaders in the audience, but each of us in our own way. We can’t wait for you to hear it!.”
After earning her Bachelor of Sciences in Life Sciences at Queen's University while playing on the varsity volleyball team, Boyle transitioned to track cycling through RBC Training Ground in 2020. Despite facing three years of challenges due to COVID, illnesses, and injuries, she has risen to compete at the highest international level and is currently training with hopes of participating in the upcoming Paris Olympics.
Boyle is currently making the switch from sprint track cycling to endurance, gearing up to compete in the team pursuit event leading into the Olympics. Beyond her cycling career, she aspires to apply to medical school and become a doctor. She believes her journey thus far has equipped her with the interpersonal skills necessary to achieve her goals both on and off the track.
When asked about her journey, Jackie Boyle commented, “Sport is about enjoying the daily journey, not just about achieving your ultimate end goal. The people you work alongside and the skills you acquire in sport extend beyond the realm of competition, becoming valuable assets in all facets of life. I’m incredibly excited to be joining She’s Got Game this year and can’t wait to meet and share my journey with so many inspiring young women and athletes.”
